The Technology Behind the Treatment
At SoftWave Clinic Ottawa, we use advanced MTS electrohydraulic shockwave technology. Electrohydraulic shock waves are generated by an electrical discharge between electrodes within the applicator. This creates a rapidly expanding plasma bubble that produces a therapeutic shock wave. The shockwave energy can then be shaped into different treatment fields according to the applicator being used. For urological treatment, SoftWave Clinic Ottawa is equipped with both Focused and Broad-Focused applicators.
Not All Shockwave Therapy Is the Same
Spark Wave electrohydraulic technology generates true therapeutic shock waves.
This is different from radial pressure-wave technologies that may also be marketed using the general term “shockwave therapy.”
The ability to generate both Focused and Broad-Focused electrohydraulic shock waves allows treatment to be adapted to different tissues and clinical objectives.
